ABOUT THE ARTIST
R.L.F.B is led by Rachma Lim, originally from Medan, North Sumatra, now a prominent figure in Singapore’s jazz scene. Beginning her journey as a young jazz pianist, Rachma graduated from Lasalle School of Contemporary Music in 2010 and has since performed extensively.
Seeking to broaden her musical horizons, Rachma pursued a Master’s Degree in music at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, New York City, mentored by esteemed educators like Professor David Berkman, Jeb Patton, Professor Dennis Mackrel, and Antonio Hart. She has shared the stage with notable jazz artists including Grammy award winner Mark Gross, Lea Pearson, Charenee Wade, and Tim Armacost, enriching her with invaluable experiences.
During her travels across Europe, Rachma collaborated with various musicians before making her way to London, where she fulfilled a lifelong dream of recording at Abbey Road Studios, resulting in her second EP, “The Nocturnal Chapters.” Her latest single, “Wishing Well,” released in April 2022, continues to showcase her evolving artistry.
Rachma remains a pivotal figure in Singapore’s jazz community, dedicated to promoting and elevating jazz as a universal language within the community.
